About this site

The website provides material produced by the Ministry of Transport and Communications including press releases, publications and descriptions of ongoing projects. The website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. The Finnish-language pages have the widest range of information.

The website was opened in a redesigned form on 22 April 2008. The contents consist of texts, links, electronic services and web feeds. The site is maintained by the Ministry's Press and Information Unit. 5 December 2010 marked the 15th birthday of the site.

5. Cookies and information collected

The service uses cookies. Some cookies are related to the website's functions, such as selection between the graphic and text version and font size, while others are used for producing website statistics.

The Ministry collects general statistical data on the use of the site for development purposes. Such statistics include information about the number of visitors to the site, the most popular pages, the page from where the visitor has entered the service, the most used search words and browsers, and the visitor's nationality.

Information collected includes:

• operating system
• display resolution
